A note from Miss. King Re: food lessons and covid Changes.
Dear parents/Carers,
At Tallis we will continue to have practical lessons in Food & Nutrition but are making some changes due to Covid.
Students are required to bring in the ingredients for each practical lesson and will be given a shopping list with quantities a week in advance on insight. Please be aware we are taking extra health & safety measures and are asking students to weight & measure all ingredients at home before bringing them into school, do not bring in full packs of ingredients you won’t be able to weigh/measure them at school and will be asked to leave them in your locker.
We want to avoid cross contamination, sharing of foods and unused foods being left in the room as we have to fully clean and sanitise after each lesson. Any food products made which need to be left in the room will be placed in the fridge and students can collect it at the end of the school day. Containers and a plastic bag will also be required to carry food made in the lesson home. I recommended students have a round chocolate container (the type we get at Christmas) and a small Tupperware container.
Click the links to see recipes Y7 and Y8 students will be making. GCSE students will be given a breakdown of recipes each term.
